My dance mat has come but I'm not dancing on it until the creases have settled out and it's never going to be folded again just stored under the sofa flat. Party Edition is at the post office depot but they only open to 1pm and we can't make that. The one day we could make it they didn't have it because of the bank holiday but they wrote on the ticket in pen that it would be there! We had to drive 28 miles and Adam had to stand in drivers only places for ages to get the mat even. I don't mind now I have it because there's a demo of Fever on one of the discs we have with 2 songs on all the different difficulties. The game has been MIA since friday and the mat since tuesday (but it should have been saturday but they don't do weekends except for going to collect and they don't do monday bank holidays). Luckily we were at BiCon so I didn't go crazy! All those things that say you can play dance mat games on your standard controller but they're not as fun... how?! You can't press oposite buttons and you have to do that even in beginners mode! We're probably having a birthday party at the end of the month and we'll have 2 mats by then so we can do party games :)
I'll write again later when I've played. Whoops where did the paragraphs go?Current Mood: mellow Current Music: Midnight Blaze

Has anyone put a flip lid on their PS2 to make it play US games? Did it work?
We bought Dancing Stage: Party Edition, 51 songs. This is good. Dance mat is coming too, should be here after BiCon (boo!).
Then next I thought maybe Megamix on the PS2, with 28 songs. Which isn't much, but hey I thought OK.......... then I saw the US equivalent DDR Max has about 66!!!! No WAY am I settling for a crappy expensive crippled game with no songs when I can have that!
So putting a flip lid on the PS2 so you can take the discs out by hand and fool the thing into not checking the region code on disc tray close. Is it any good? If I like Party Edition there is no way I'm settling for the crap crippled european PS2 DS games. NO WAY!
Does anyone ever actually read this thing by the way because whenever I write here and ask or say anything no one answers?!Current Mood: annoyed Current Music: U1 Jewel Style - Midnight Blaze

I'm researching Dance Mats because we're going to buy one at the end of the month (and Dancing Stage Megamix - sux to have a UK PAL PS2!) I looked on this site and I think we'll get the new Logic3 from Woolworths (because no one has anything nice to say about the £6.99 ones from GAME).
I'm not allowed to buy the hard mats without at least having played the game (OK, I have to play the game A LOT), but for when I do can anyone recommed a good one or warn me off a bad one? What's the hard mat from Argos Extra like?
Wait has there been a new 'Dancing Stage' since Megamix? .........oh yeah Fever, I should get a review of that too then. .......No, sticking to Megamix.
Last time I said I was getting a dance mat at the end of the month we got a joint pain condition that made it bad enough to walk for about 2 years so ...touch wood?Current Mood: tired Current Music: Cars going by - the window is open (dance remix)

The Daleks won't be in Dr who any more?? The BBC should put the Camp Daleks and the Turdis in the new series just to show the estate of the dead Terry Nation what they think of that!
The Daleks belong to the people man! Take them back! DIY Daleks everywhere!
(does this mean the Daleks are free to appear in other series? Daleks on Stargate SG-1 maybe? What would Jack say to that?!)Current Mood: cynical Current Music: TV

» Hair gel and Harry Potter 3
Adam just put Hard Glue gel which DOESN'T WORK in our hair and completely messed it up. It's not rock hard like the ads say, it's just sticky at the bottom and not standing up, just a bit crispier everywhere else maybe the hair drier would make it go hard --- it just feels like it's full of pritt stick right now!
We saw Harry Potter 8pm on Sunday and the cinema was totally full except for the three front rows. That's with showings every 30 minutes all through the day.
It was cool they had all the best bits in and none of the Quiditch that wasn't in the plot and almost no house points crap so woo. Black and Lupin were so totally in lurve so that was good ;) The hippogryth was brilliant and the dementors were propally scary!
I saw the Lego dementors today and I can tell you that they are RUBBISH! Just a lego man with a cape and a totally black standard lego man head. Give them a flowing hood thing and a head with just one big round mouth on the front which you can only see clearly with the hood off now that would be cool!
Big Brother is setting off alarms if they sleep and sprinklers if they sun bathe. I wish I had E4 now!
If we get the job we interviewed for today it will be a lot because of the website and source code for the website. Apart from the content I wrote ALL of that! Ha!
Adam is writing lots of Tomorrow People fan fic at the moment. If I was writing it it would be a lot more stoopid and funny, but that's probably a good thing.
This gel still isn't getting hard... I'm washing it out. If it takes an hour to get hard how the hell are you supposed to hlod your hair up in the air for all of that??

They put all the other mansion guests back into the mansion as soon as they announced the winner so instead of the winner sitting there having the most boring 30 mins of their life or crying or whatever while the number 2 is interviewed, they actually get to have a big party while they wait! genius!

» That stupid 'homage' episode of Arthur which I probably wrote about before already
Aaaargh it's the episode of Arthur where they do loads of different animation parody versions of Arthur including a South Park one because to target viewer group of Arthur should all be watching South Park OH YES
Aaaaaaaaaahhhhh my eyes!!! Arthur and Buster as Beavis and Butthead!!!!
Dexter's Lab?! Now that's just ripping off the Cartoon Network!
Now they're ripping of Dr Katz... do they even show that any more?! Did kids watch it? Ones who would be watching Arthur now?
And now it's 5 years later and the gang are dressed like they're a cross between Archie, Grease and Scooby Doo. But no one's voice has broken. The end!
(Oh I definately wrote about this before. Sorry everyone. Yeah it was a real story writing contest that made the episode. Bring back the magic school bus, all is forgiven!)

» You are the weakest meme, goodbye!
I liked all those corruptions of Marriage is Love using really subtle messages with different colours in the rainbow band. They were clever and witty. But the tinted photo ones are sooooo stupid. Can we say subtlty of a brick? And if they tint the photos to be rainbow colours half the time that doesn't even make SENSE! It's like those stupid photo mosaic photos where the people making them couldn't find enough photos to match all the pixel colours and so half the photos are tinted like a real photo mosaic is brilliantly clever (even if it is done by computer) but a picture of Yoda made up of smaller pictures of yoda tinted magenta is just rubbish. I would make a banner with the same picture of Yoda tinted different colours saying 'Photo Tinting is Rubbish' but I can't be bothered :P

American detective show cliche #3, the dectective walks in on a TV adaption of their life which is identical except for a much more attractive actor playing them and less realistic or lower common denominator plots.
Hey they even did that plot in Stargate SG-1!

» Weird!
That episode of Father Dowling where the Devil is actually in it as a bad guy (and does lots of supernatural things) is even more weird and out of place than that episode of Diagnosis Murder where one of the characters is the soulbond of the murderer and no one else can see her.
Aaand, Tracy Beaker's Movie of Me was cool!

I think that whoever made the new ads for Hubba Bubba bubblegum tape is funbelievabubbly patronising and cynical about kids. Plus I think a crowd of cool kids would be the ones doing the bullying anyway. Who bullies a crowd on their own? I mean really!

» Scream of the Shakra rocks my socks!
Pffft there was *such* an obvious edit out of something gory in the SG-1 I just watched. Why oh why must Channel 4 show it during kids TV?!
Aaaaand I *liked* Richard E Grant as the Doctor! So not only is it a waste of a regeneration, it's a waste of a GOOD regeneration. Wah! I want more slashy drunken Doctor/Master action! The Master should always be the doctor's android TARDIS-bound companion, that's genious (almost as good as what it's implied they do in their spare time :)
Someone start a petition!

Garth Marenghi's Darkplace is officially piss-yourself funny! :)
I swear I saw a Danish horror show set in a hospital that was exactly like this but serious (and maybe a little less professional ;)!
I love the guy whose accent changes every line and the girl whose voice is so obviously dubbed over... and when the cat jumps in obviously thrown and it imeddiately says 'leave now!' in an unconvincing man's voice... Classic!

» Peter Pan
Remember that the American slogan for Peter Pan called it a legend? well, I saw the UK posters for it recently and they had exactly the same slogan EXCEPT 'legend' had been replaced with 'timeless story'...
But that's even more stupid! It's not timeless! If it's timeless why have they done it as a 1910's period piece?! :P
